Festival submissions are a bitch

So, besides being the first time I've written a blog, it's also the first time that I have ever tried submitting to film festivals. I never thought it would feel like being in the doctor's office, waiting to see if the test results came back negative ("Mr. Bear, you are going to live.") or positive ("Mr. Bear, you are going to die in 5 seconds. Bye.")
Everyday kind of feels like this because I'm so anxious to see if my film got into a festival, I check my submission list everyday, hoping that magically it's going to tell me that "The Dorm Room is an offical selection of so and so film festival!" even though it clearly states that I have another week to go before they will even notify me. I guess its kind of pathetic if you look at it a certain way, but if you look at it in another way, its really exciting, kind of like waiting to see what you are going to get at Christmas, and you're just counting the days. I just hope that my present is entry into one of these things so people can watch this movie I've been slaving over!
So, my first blog. Cool. I'm going to go check my submission list and see if I got in yet.
