Hi All! Just had my first editing session and not a big surprise but I definately need to find some music/a composer for my film. Anyone have any tips on where to find composer for 'ultra low budget' short films? Thanks for your help!

Film Festival Friends

Hi All, Some very good friends have films at TIFF. Our lovely Jennifer Clement is in the feature FIDO and my friend and mentor Bill Marchant's short 'By the Hour' is one of the must see shorts at the fest. By the Hour features many Claire folks: Co-starring Andrew Moxham (our DOP), produced by Cheryl Smith (our producer), A.D. Moi! , costumes by Hilary Marsh and Grip extrodinare Rob Forbes. If you are in Toronto, please try to check these out.

Fun-draiser

Way back on July 6th we gathered a our cast, crew and a tonne of friends to come to my favourite watering hole 'Dix BBQ and Brewhouse'. We listened to the fine tunes of our good friend Michael Chase and his band Dogflower (IMDB him or google dogflower) and drank a lot of Tony's (Tony Dewalt, if you are a perfectly matured human being you may recall a crazy band called Deja Vu Du?) really fine ale. After a few shooters we mistakenly gave the camera to Cheryl our lovely producer who took these shots. Lots of fine folks donated door prizes and we received a lot of support - moral and otherwise. You may notice us gals are wearing 'Precipitation Pilsner' shirts, donated by my dear friend and employer James Walton of Storm Brewing. There is a great correlation independent filmmaking, independent musicians and independent brewers. Thanks to all who came out. Can't wait for the release party! Kim

Claire - First post Favourite Moments

Hello to all our lovely supporters! We'll use this blog to keep you up to date with our progress on Claire. We shot Claire on Saturday Aug 26th and Sunday Aug 27th and could not have asked for a better team! Saturday was a 16 hour day and Sunday pulled in around 12 hours. We had a bit of a learning curve as we adjusted to our new camera the Panasonic AG-HVX200 which requires downloading from the cards to our hard drive every 20 minutes of footage. By mid-morning we had our timing worked out to transfer when we had a new lighting set up. My favourite point of the morning was looking around and seeing not only my lovely and talented crew (who are also friends) but my MOM making bagels and coffee for the crew. I knew then that we were going to create something special. Cast and Crew - please feel free to post your favourite moments.
