It's been many months since my last entry...

... and I have no clever excuses. Lame excuses I have plenty of. But nothing clever.
The Edmonton International Film Festival wrapped on October 7th with the Champagne Gala film 'Wristcutters: A Love Story'. If any of you get the chance to see it, don't pass it up. It's an absolutely beautiful, uplifting, powerful project. We were honored to have director Goran Dukic on-hand along with Shea Whigham (Actor) and Mikal Lazarev (Producer/Actor). What a high note to end the fest on!
And since then, our festival machine continues to hum. The chase for sponsorship dollars, filmmaker guests, and cinematic gems is an ongoing journey. A journey we're all proud to be a part of.
So send us your movies. Come to our festival. Spread the love!
July 25th - Final Submission Deadline for 20th EIFF

Whew! Today's the day. I signed up our festival with WAB just 4 weeks ago and am astounded by the number of filmmakers who submitted online through this system. Typically, our fest gets 200+ shorts and feature submissions. Thanks to WAB, we're up 100% -- we've doubled our submissions. We'll post our online submissions for 2007 much earlier on WAB and cross our fingers that we can keep up with them all!

This day has arrived. It's the day we let all filmmakers know whether we will (or won't) be screening their project/s at our upcoming festival. On the one hand, it's so exciting -- notifying all the 'yes' filmmakers -- but that fun is completely outweighed by the rejections we have to send out. Every single film we received here showed courage, pure commitment, and tons of ingenuity. But we can only show so many films which is why we had to make hard decisions. Again, thank-you to everyone who submitted!

I am one of the many proud participants of the Edmonton International Film Festival ('05) and I can honestly say the Kerrie and her crew are some of the hardest-working, film (and filmmaker)-crazed, fun-loving people around! We {heart} EIFF!

Hey you fabulous WAB peeps. I'm new on here, so please bear with me as I fumble through the technology. I produce the Edmonton International Film Festival and want to thank everyone who submitted their film to our fest. I'm amazed at the energy and passion that goes into each cinematic story -- no matter how long they are. Keep on telling your stories!
