Have you ever experienced someone commission a painting of his or her child, then turn around and give the painting more love and attention than the child? One would purchase a painting of a landscape, then treat the space around them with complete disregard (Pollution). Imagine how different the world would be if the words of the prophets were studied, tested and implemented, rather than the worshipping of the prophets and their undeciphered words. Too often the prophets themselves do not understand what they are saying, especially when the speach is automatismic. Jiivanii

My friend Ginger has gone off, leaving me behind working like a crazed woman. Ginger is the "Movie Maker" who has completed his film "Room for Rent", an im duwn even sen mi a line, a letta nar a fifty cent stamp...mi tink a lie mi a tell dough, faar mi tink seh mi did get waan note whey im did sen fi ebery baddy...an yuh kno seh mi spreciaal, ehhe, an mi waan mi oown. GINGA! GINGA!!! Which paat yuh deh? Mi caan si yuh! pull di curtain! One Love my Bredda, have fun which paat yuh deh! So much doing, and little done. " in the Vernacular" was previewed at "Kingston on the Edge" in June of 2007. The cut shown was not the "Final Cut", (see poster on my website, page - "Events and Happenings" at http://www.jiivaniiredmarks.com), however, it was great to see the work projected on large screen. There is a little fine tuning left to be done, as well as the book to complete. I need another three pairs of hands and four additional Macs, also I wish that I could blink and all projects would be complete. The journey continues...... Jiivanii

Finally I am "in the Vernacular" Mar 03, 2007 08:10AM

My Birthday was on March 1. I completed the sound bed for my animation on March 2, 2007 at 5:31 pm. My plan was to, go to the front door of my apartment, scream, then shout "B----------------t, it dunn". But then I went directly to a meeting, for which I had to prepare a poem, a Poem about the most enlightening experience I ever had. At the meeting I delighted in the joy of another's deliverance from a self imposed "Light Hole", and forgot about my own recent accomplishment. I would think that, after working for 23 months, minimum 18 hours per day, single handedly on a personal project, I would feel a greater sense of accomplishment. However, the feeling is; just another loved piece of work completed.... NeEXtT!!! Oh yes! I will do more! "in the Vernacular" is my first project. Respect to the Son of KING PETER TOSH, ANDREW TOSH, for giving me the go-ahead to use the voice of his Father in the movie introduction. King Peter Tosh is one of my favorite Singers and My most loved Voice, speaking as well as singing. He was also a forerunner in use of the Jamaican "Cuss"/ "Curse" words. Respect also to Herman V. (I leave his last name as V. because if I were to spell his name incorrectly.....I don't know... he would sue me for defamation of character?) our local framer and art enthusiast who is always so supportive of my work (I don't know why).
