We are extremely happy to have been chosen as an official selection by The Australian International Film Festival!

We have never attended this event before, but somehow we just fell in love with this from the first time. It really looks like it's going to be an amazing festival! We can't wait to hopefully make it to Melbourne and be part of the celebration...

The much anticipated event!
The Showdown Opens Theatrically for Academy Awards Legibility at the Fine Arts in Beverly Hills.

After the success our film was receiving at several film festivals worldwide, The Showdown, was now ready for Academy submission. And we couldn't do it in a better way than to open the film to the public in one of Los Angeles' most distinguished cinemas. A special thanks from everyone of us to Michael S. Hall (the theater's director) for making this event a reality.

The beautiful Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills.

The film screens in front of our audience in its best form. Technicolor delivered us, just a few days before the screening, a brand new beautiful 35mm print. It screens in the 400 seats theater filling the room with its breathtaking Dolby Digital Surround EX mix.

HOLLYWOOD SHRIEKFEST

Right during the same week-end of our theatrical release in Beverly Hills, THE SHOWDOWN is also showcasing at the 2006 Hollywood ShriekFest.
The event takes place in the beautiful Raleigh Studios on Melrose Blvd. in the very hearth of Hollywood.
The film selection is terrific (literally), featuring some of the best horror, action and thriller indie features and shorts.

-- August 12, 2006: We are extremely thrilled by the success THE SHOWDOWN has over a huge 150 people crowd at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival. The event took place in the beautiful Hermosa Beach, California within a suggestive and relaxed "beach atmosphere" and some really nice parties...

-- Sunday, July 16. Our film screens at the much anticipated Long Island International Film Expo. After an amazing festival experience we have only but great things to say about this festival. It is just a great atmosphere to be in, and an exciting way to meet great people and a lots of talented filmmakers. Among the many guests were several recognizable film and TV names. The festival also presents some of the most insightful and well organized film panels we've seen. Well worth attending!

After a very successful screening (followed by a long applause) at the Bellmore theater, we were extremely pleased to see THE SHOWDOWN recognized with a very special award.

A little bit about ourselves:

Antony and Fulvio Sestito developed an enormous passion for filmmaking from a very young age. During each high school year they would write and develop an ambitious story to be shot in the summer brake, involving their entire family and friends in the process.

They both studied directing at Cinecittà in their native city of Rome, Italy. In 2000, they moved to Los Angeles, California to expand their knowledge at UCLA Extension, Film and Television program. They graduated in Directing, Cinematography and Post- Production in 2004. To date, they have written, produced and directed several narrative projects, documentaries and music videos. They live in Los Angeles.

Their most recent work is the short action/drama film THE SHOWDOWN , which is currently showing at film festivals worldwide. They are also developing a feature film and several other projects.

Had a chance to see this film at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival. I really enjoyed it. It is a warm and passionate story about letting go of the memories of your childhood. Alexandra Aidini looks just gorgeous. She has a striking screen presence.

I've seen this film at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival and I have to say I was really entertained by it. Nice casting you can relate to, extremely funny and a slick contemporary directing style. Highly recommended.

Thanks for check my page. I checked out the film page for The Showdown...congrats. The 1 Second film is a nonprofit effort where all the producers buy a film credit and all profits will be donated to charity. I made a donation thus a producer of the film but, I have nothing to do with the original concept. However, I have just wrapped my first film, Two weeks from Monday and am currently in the post-production stage. There is more details about it on my member page. Check it out when you get a chance. Good luck with the film.
