Synopsis

Married for over 30 years, Liz and Charlie are stuck in a lifeless relationship that has become centered on their ever-droning television. Lulled into complacency by endless hours of network programming, they consistently work around each other…until one evening the TV set goes on the fritz! On this night, Charlie and Liz are forced to interact in ways they have long since forgotten. Eventually, they find a way to rekindle their long-dormant relationship and regain the life and love they once shared.

Here we go again! "Universal Remote" has been programmed to screen at the Big Easy Shorts Festival in New Orleans the weekend of November 15-18. If you are a bayou dweller or just hanging out on Bourbon Street drinking a Hurricane or two, please come out and support the film at its Louisiana premiere! "Universal Remote" is back on the festival circuit! For those of you in middle America, the short will be screening at the Bluegrass Independent Film Festival the weekend of September 7-9 in LaGrange, Kentucky (just outside of Louisville). Unfortunately, I will be performing in a show in Los Angeles and will not be able to attend--a bummer since my hometown of Lexington, KY is just over an hour away! But if any of you just happen to be swinging through the Louisville area that weekend, please go out and support the film! It is with great pleasure that I announce the world premiere screening of the short film "Universal Remote", taking place on July 8th at 5 pm at the 10th Annual Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles, California (see complete info below)! It is especially gratifying to have the film programmed by the festival that since 1998 has used the slogan "No politics. No stars. No sh*t." What does this slogan mean, you ask? Well, let me tell you. Dances With Films is the only festival, as the founders state, "dedicated to the truly independent films and the people behind them." By not allowing films with any form of celebrity participation, this festival has become a celebration of true independents and a showcase for the unsung filmmakers of the world. It is extremely exciting to be included such company. So if you happen to be in Los Angeles on July 8th, I would like to invite you to stop by the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theaters in West Hollywood to see "Universal Remote" in all its big screen glory!
