Film Description:
A british soldier shamed for deserting the infantry in WW2, isolates himself in an old country house, only to have his old army superior move in and instigate military rule.
Synopsis
'All a man needs is his dignity...' Newton Ferrers, England, 1947. The war is over. Private Larson has inherited from the war a hotel, a prosthetic leg and a 'problem' which has cost him his wife and family and moves out the harbourside village to live out his days in peace and seclusion. Without anyone telling him what to do he can fill his time with reading and painting, never having to talk to anyone or leave the hotel. But before long his belongings start to go missing and there are signs that a mysterious looter is breaking in and stealing from him. Enlisting the help of Freya, the beautiful girl who delivers his groceries, Larson sets out to find the culprit. An unlikely romance blossoms between Larson and Freya and they are soon battling to overcome his 'problem.' One night there is a knock at the door and Larson is shocked to find the Colonel, his old superior – presumed dead – on his doorstep. Having lost his family to the war the Colonel has been travelling the country seeking refuge and Larson and Freya agree to let him stay in the hotel. But, appalled by the lootings and the state of Larson's affairs in general, the Colonel is soon formulating a strategy to restore order to the house, the only way he knows how… The war is over. But Larson's war has just begun.

From among exciting tales: sleeping over in a Twingo in a car park, the DoP getting attacked by vicious seagulls on the beach, directors swimming out to steal bottles of champagne from the VIP pier, getting lost in the French countryside, pretending to own the yacht "Esmaralda" in order to use a club toilet, getting chased by the Slovenian film council, or being denied tap water by silly barmen it was a beautiful, damn hot and chaotic jorney, a crawl through hordes of movie producers, distributors, freeloaders and films.
It's been tough to get where we are, and we are still not finished, but its a great time and I am still learning more than doing anything else.
Soon we are taking a trailer down to Cannes to generate some interest. It's my first trip there so I guess it will be a lot of exploring. We will be trying all the digital film festivals next year and then aim to get distribution.
I will post the trailer soon, so if you are curious, please stop by later.

Hiya,
I just found your page and decided to spend some time reviewing your trailer...I liked the way the mood begins light, visually and with dialogue, and then turns dark and sinister. It has a Eurpoean feel and reminds me of Festen. It raises the questions that make you want to see more. "Who's grave was he digging? Who's blood on his hand?"...Keep me informed of screenings. If you have time check out my film page...Good luck!...P

Very successful trailer. It suggests a well-written film, an original story, and powerful emotional currents. I want to see this film.
