Film Description:
Synopsis
“Theodore” is an original short film by writer, director Jorge Moran. With attention to Production Design the film is shot on location in Savannah, GA. The film takes a somewhat dark but endearing look at the life of a lonely schizophrenic African American man named Theodore. The film begins as we see Theodore starting his long walk home from work. When Theodore reaches home we are introduced to Theodore’s imaginary friend a tall, thuggish looking, African American named Dante. When Theodore is home, Dante seems to always be around constantly giving advice and picking at Theodore. Theodore has grown tired of Dante and lives a lonely frustrated life. The story progresses as Theodore unintentionally meets a girl named Yvette. Yvette is a white girl who has just come out of an abusive relationship and is hesitant to trust Theodore. In time Yvette and Theodore fall in love and a relationship is formed. Theodore never tells Yvette about Dante. Yvette eventually catches Theodore in an argument with Dante. Yvette tries to convince Theodore that Dante is not real, a fight ensues, and Theodore confused and frustrated, pushes Yvette against a wall. Yvette not willing to be in another abusive relationship leaves Theodore. And now once again he is by himself with only Dante. Will Yvette come back to Theodore? If so, can she help Theodore with his mental problem? What becomes of Theodore? You must watch the film to answers these questions and to see one of the most original surprise endings.
