Synopsis

In the heart of Brooklyn new life grows. Sela is pregnant. Sam manages to avoid the question by bending to what she wants. He loves her. But the very moment when they ultimately have to decide he withdraws his decision and hides. While he hovers between choosing and revealing what he feels underneath time runs out. She presses him. He slides around her questions and seems to crumble from within. And just at the moment when he does decide a terrible accident interrupts their live and future. The eventual fall-out and final seconds of their story are stunning and haunting as both of these young people are transformed forever.

5th Annual Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival Dec 10, 2006 10:09PM

We'll be in Atlanta with "Surface..." and Darius (NYU classmate/great filmmaker) and his film "Testify" during April 18-22, 2007. We're excited to have our first southeast premier. Very close to home back in Alabama. This is a strong festival. If you're in the area please come out.

We recently attended the festival and had a blast. If you've never attended this festival please make an attempt to go next year. Our short, "Surface of Things" screened in the shorts program. Our screening was well attended, the audience was very attentive to all the films and displayed real film savvy during the Q&A afterwards. The staff was really welcoming and bent over backwards to make us feel like we were a part of a great tradition. All the way from the Founder down to the good folks selling tickets. We also had a chance to see several films and found them (all in all) compelling and well programmed. I'm gushing about this so because I've attended other festivals with the short and can tell you... they are not all created equal. This is really one of the best I've attended. And oh yes, Chicago is a mighty fine town too (and that from a new yorker).
