Austin Wilson is a young independent teenager with a big heart. Always a loner without hearing, Austin has looked at life with a unique optimism. But now, as Austin decides to delve into the real world and begin attending college, he soon realizes life isn't always as bright as it seems. When his girlfriend, Aaralyn, grows noticeably distant, Austin begins to think his handicap has something to do with her change of heart. Hurt and alone, Austin struggles to find a way to win Aaralyn back. With the help of his old neighbor, Roy, Austin begins to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
