SHANTELL TOWN WINS AWARDS AT BFM!!!!! Sep 12, 2007 07:45AM
Dear All, I'm pleased to announce that 'Shantell Town' has won two awards at last night's BFM Short Film Awards sponsored by BET, at the Odeon, West End. Best Female Actor and Best Director. It's an honour and priviledge to receive such an award. I'm really chuffed. Nicky was gobsmacked. She was thinking of never acting again, but hopefully this changes her mind. More pictures follow soon.

Hey Yall... Jan 16, 2007 08:09AM
Hi, The festival went well. Didn't win an award but it's the taking part that counts. The screening was pretty full too, so more peole have had the Shantell Town experience. I'm currently pitching new script for funding. Been shortlisted from hundreds of applicants and will have training in Feb. Fingers crossed I'll be making a new film in March. All is good, apart from being a penniless filmmaker. Good luck for the New Year! Laters...px

A good day... Oct 30, 2006 03:05PM
Well, today was a success. I attended an event called "In The Picture" hosted as part of the London Film festival @ the ICA on the Mall...The seminars and workshops were very motivating and inspiring (even though I did ask a stupid question but I really need to get over it..)..Anyway, there were schemes such as B3 Blank Slate and Compass which offer training and funding...check out their websites...made lots of contacts which I will be keeping in touch with. Can't wait till my next screening. Ciao! px

It's always a good sign when a filmmaker can do something very, very, very funny, but at the same time tackle an important issue. Great Short Film.
