Synopsis
'I'll be there with you' explores the complexities of love in both its brightest and darkest corners as an unusual group of characters face tragic consequences. 'I'll Be There With You' chronicles a seemingly innocent spring break retreat to the outskirts of San Diego for young couple, Aki (played by Writer-Director,Kitamura) and Annie (Adarsha Benjamin). Surrounded by their eccentric and somewhat troubled group of friends, the couple's recently strained relationship finds little solace - eventually leading to infidelity. However, their problems are soon eclipsed by far more menacing forces, which come in the form of Constantine (Daniel Baldwin), the perverse man that owns the ranch the group are staying at and a group of roaming schizophrenics. The tragic events that follow serve as a catalyst for the young couple's recognition of true love and acceptance of destiny. 'Entertainingly weird and dark! Marked with bursts of hilarity and scenes of shock and suspense, it has flourishes reminiscent of David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino. Totally unpredictable!' --- Todd David Schwartz, CBS

"If you always wondered what "American Pie" meets "I Spit On Your Grave" (with a Baldwin brother thrown in) would look like on the big screen, here is your chance. While not for the easily offended, the absurdity of events that takes place in I'll Be There With You and their deadly resolutions make for a dark, fun, perverse film. - Scott Rudolph
(taken from www.festivalprogram.com) (Scott Rudolph - Is a festival program director for the Newport Beach Film Festival, and Beverly Hills Fine Arts Industry Showcase Series, Executive Director of the Chicago International REEL Shorts Festival and Festival Liaison at Withoutabox.)
Technically, We have not had our "WORLD PREMIERE" in any film festivals yet. The screening we had on 02/04 at Beverly Hills Fine Arts Theatre Industry Showcase was a "Special Sneak Preview" screening. (It was their kind consideration so we do not have any problem with up-coming film festivals with premiere requirement. Check www.festivalprogram.com for that matter.)
Also, the other two screenings we had were not film festival screenings but cool art events screenings.
We are looking forward to having our World Premiere in your film festival and share the moment of happiness with everyone.
We are getting so much attention right now. There are so many people from different cities who want to see this film. and we want to enjoy this film experience with people all over the world!!! so please invite our film to your festival.
Thanks so much for being interested in our little Independent film.
We will be there with you. Anytime. Anywhere. With love..
My 1st reaction to the news was "Holly shit!! I knew he was going to do this! May be we can use this to sell our movie!!". I knew he started drinking and doing drugs after he did our movie and I knew something like this was going to happen sooner or later. After the movie, we lost in touch with him. I invited him to all the screenings we had but he never called me back.. All that was fine with me. When Chris penn passed away, we were joking like "if it was Daniel, our movie would be successful. We missed the Jackpot!!" Chris Penn and Daniel Baldwin was the two who were interested in doing our movie and we chose Daniel because he was cheaper. At first, I really did not care about Daniel so much because I knew our movie was going to be successful for having so many young great talents in the movie. When we were casting for the movie, I remember I was screaming to my producers "We don't need Daniel!! We don't need the names!! We got great talents already!!" silly me.. I remember I was a bit scared of him when I first met him. He has done 72 movies or someting and it was my 2nd feature film. I did not know if he was going to respect a young new filmmaker like me or even listen to me. My DP has worked with him before and He hated Daniel for behaving badly on the set. I remember how nervous I was feeling on the way to meet Daniel for the 1st time. I hated Daniel Baldwin even before I met him. I thought he was going to be a disaster on the set.
All that was changed when I met him.
He was actually a nice gentlemen. He was sober when we met him. He had a nice family and he invited all of us to the dinner party at his house to get to know about each other before the shooting. I met his beautiful wife and lovely boy kid at his nice house in Santa Monica. You want to know how he was on the set? He was perfect. I remember I said to him "Hey Daniel. I know this is your 72nd movie and this is my 2nd film. I really respect you for keep doing you work so I want you to do whatever you wants to do for your acting. I want you to have fun doing this independent film because You can absolutely make any acting choices since this is not a studio film. so let's do some sick stuff. The sicker and the deeper is the better for me." and Daniel smiled and said "Don't worry, Mr director. It is going to be fun." On the set, He listened to every directions I gave to him. Everytime He came up with a new idea for his acting, He asked me first to get my permission to try it. The way he was acting on the set taught all the young actors that even if this is your 72nd movie, you still have to listen to a director. He was a total professional. And His performance!! He was so good!! I could not even imagine how talented he was as an actor. I was so pleased everytime he did his thing that All I ever said to him was "Man, that was so fuckin' good! Oh my god!! That thing you did was so fuckin' amazing! Let's move on!!" He was having fun himself. I also remember the 1st creative argument I had with him. It was a scene that he was going to get stabbed by a lead lady Adarsha Benjamin. I wanted him to get stabbed in the front but He wanted to get stabbed in the back. We probably argued for 5 minutes. It's a long time, considering our crazy tight indie film schedule. But I did not back off, I knew it was important to fulfill my vision for the film to be successful even if it was against Daniel Baldwin. I was so strong in the argument and finally Daniel stopped. He stepped outside a minute and told me that I was right and He gave me his new idea about his acting in the scene. It turned out one of the best scene in the movie!! He could go home after he did his part but he decided to stay to support Adarsha to do her part. Adarsha was so good in the scene that Daniel gave her "The Best Baldwin Actess Award of the Year"!! We knew we won his respect to the fullest when we created the scene together. It probably was one of the best scenes he has ever done for his career. We all were so happy together as artitsts. When I said good bye to him, I promised to use him again in my next movie and he said "I hope so, Mr director" and he went away. Daniel Baldwin may be the black sheep of the family, the least famous and the poorest of all the Baldwin brothers but I believe that he is the best talented Baldwin of all. At least for me, he will be the best Baldwin forever. Please come see our film and check out his performance. You will see what I am talking about. And I will work with him again in my next projects so we can create the best scenes again together. Daniel Baldwin rocks!!

And what I really liked about this screening was those NY people.. They really got the movie. I heard a group of people sitting behind me making cool comments thoughout the movie. They were like "This Baldwin is sick!" I am always happy to hear people's reactions to the film. It's a very entertaining film even though the events taking place in this film is very intense, raw and sometimes sad, and I have witnessed everybody has different kind of emotional reactions to it. In past screening, there were people laughing out loud to some very violent scenes while some people was shaking with fear and anger..at this screening, I heard a couple crying at the end part of the movie and it really meant a lot to me. I almost cried listening to them sobbing..
I talked to a lot of cool people at the after party. World Famous DJ Olive was really a cool person. I loved him. And we got a lady from withoutabox.com to support the film. Last night, They featured our film in the top page of their huge website as the main spotlight film among all the other films playing at Tribeca Film Festival. How cool is that!! I will tell you all about it in another blog because they are doing really great things for our movie.
so we had a great party with our film in New York. I hope we can come back to NY to show our film again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your support!! I love you guys!!

I saw it when they had a sneak preview at Artshare, Downtown LA. I really enjoyed this movie. All my friends talked about this flick for days. Def,it will be a cult classic!! Seriously, this movie should play in Sundance next year. Very Original storytelling in a traditional B-horror movie settings. Great performances from these young actors! I think some of them will well known in the future. I also loved how the movie becomes like a Japanese movie when the two Japanese boys talk in Japanese to each other with English Subtitles. Great job!!

okay, so when am I gonna see this masterpiece on the bigscreen??? I live in the middle of nowhere, but I'd be willing to drive my sorry ass to a decent city just to spend 8 bucks for a ticket and 5 bucks for a soda and 5 bucks for some popcorn...and 100 dollars for gas... dude, that's how bad I wanna see it. that bad. $118 bad and I don't even have a job. I'll probably have to go sell my plasma... I'm sure it's worth it, too! Aki, I love you baby! you're an effin genius and you know it! xoxoxo-thesoundaquietrivermakes.

I haven't seen the movie yet (when is it coming out again in LA?!?!) but I understand the director, Akihiro Kitamura, is a blast of bright, new energy in Los Angeles and the film world in general. He never holds back from his inner instincts and point of view, which is why I want to see this film. Soo...when is it coming to Los Angeles and when can I get a ticket?

Hey folks. I'm a huge indie film fan. All I watch on tv is the news, and IFC. Just wanted to comment on the film "I'll Be There With You", from Writer/Director Akihiro Kitamura. I live in LA and first learned of the film on myspace, but wasn't able to catch any of the LA screenings. So I flew to NYC and caught the screening at Issue Project Room. I loved the film!!!! I loved the story, the cast; I mean, these actors are totally committed and real, and it comes across in their amazing performances. The non-verbal behavior and the attention to detail is refreshing. This is not the same ol' independent film. No way! This film has bite. THIS film is cutting edge! I love how Akihiro Kitamura cast Daniel Baldwin. What a dark character!! I never ever would have thought the film would end the way it did. Crazy!!!!!! And the sound track is incredible! Nico Vega, Plebz, Circus Minor; the sound track is tight! If you like gritty (violent) films with tough subject matter, this i
