Synopsis
'The best way to make your audience feel is to trick them. If they hear laughter, they will not be able to resist. Like a mob on a cobblestone road stampeding through the center of a filthy, redemption starved town; the unnatural laughter will lead the masses with it to slay the wicked beast atop the hill.' These were the words of famed Russian filmmaker Vyacheslav (Vegi-slav) Krilov. This short film chronicles the rise and fall and rise again of this infamous artist. From the height of his career at the Institute for Redemption Starvation Studies, to his imprisonment in a dank Siberian Gulag this film tells the tale. Part of the long running 'Moving Picture Makers' serial this 'documentary' holds up to their usual standards of quality. For anyone who has ever dreamed of picking up a film camera, making a piece of art, or going to prison - this film is sure to inspire. This film also features clips from rare Krilov classics including 'If Not Redeemed, Babies are Angry' and 'The Unbirth'.

We'll be playing in the UK as part of the Super Shorts Fest! Also just found out were a finalist in the SXSWclick fest - an online SXSW festival. If we wind up "winning" our category we'll go to SXSW in March 2007. The funny thing is we were already rejected by SXSW in 2006 - never give up hope!
