Synopsis
Carlos is a lonely man and workaholic who agrees to meet the woman of his dreams who he's been chatting with on the internet. Against the advice of his sister, Carlos agrees to meet the beautiful and mysterious Suzie for a drink at the Lobster Restaurant at the Santa Monica Pier. But when Carlos arrives to the bar, Suzie is late. She stands him up and then sends him a text message apologizing for not being able to make it to the restaurant. To make amends, she invites him to her home in the Hollywood Hills. Carlos thinks it's strange, but he really wants to meet her. So he goes to Suzie's house but when he gets there, things are not what they appear to be. Carlos arrives to a beautiful house in the Hollywood Hills. He's hesitant to enter until he gets a text message from Suzie inviting him in. Carlos takes a deep breath and enters only to marvel at the spectacular view of Los Angeles. He looks around but Suzie is no where to be found. Then, he gets another text message. 'Make yourself at home.' Carlos thinks it's strange. A plasma TV is the only light that illuminates the room. Another text message arrives. 'Fix yourself a Drink.' After a beer he gets another text. 'I'm downstairs.' Now, Carlos wonders if this is some sort of trap or the beginning of a dream come true.

Principle photography wrapped Tuesday, January 8, 2008 on the new short film by Ted Williams. The Dream Comes True, starring Carlos Mendez resumed shooting after a holiday hiatus. Joining the cast is Canadian-born actress Lisa Britton, in the role of the mysterious woman who Carlos meets after he realizes he has become a part of a dream come true. The final dream sequence was shot on a secluded beach in Malibu, California. Without giving too much away, Carlos finds himself suddenly on a beach after agreeing to show up at the house of a woman he's been chatting on the internet. "It was so much fun working with Carlos and Lisa," says writer/director Ted Williams. Lisa is a beautiful girl and the chemistry between she and Carlos was amazing. I will start editing the short in a week or so and enter it into film festivals.

Described as a fantasy short, "The Dream Comes True" stars Carlos Mendez as a lonely workaholic who agrees to meet the girl of his dream who he has been chatting with on the internet. But when she stands him up, he agrees to go to her home in the Hollywood Hills for a drink, where he learns a lesson about meeting strangers.
