EYE POPPIN was made while I was in Mississippi directing and shooting rap star, AFROMAN's new stable of stars for his Hungry Hustler label. This one guy, Jamie Johnson lives in the projects there and was invited to be in Poboy's video, "Get High Tonight." He had to dress in drag and try to pick Poboy up in the video.

But, Jamie has a special talent. He can pop his eyes completely out of his head. While on the shoot, I basically turned the camera on him and asked him how he did it. The music, "We Smoke," is a cool tune Poboy did that relates to Jamie's story, so I slid it in. That's it. Story of the film. All she wrote.
